Christan Shirk is a Messiah College graduate (1993, Civil Engineering) and has been a keen and passionate observer of Division III soccer for going on two decades. Never more than a rec-league player himself, Chris brings an analytical approach and nationwide perspective to D3soccer.com. He loves D-III soccer history, statistical number-crunching, and off-the-radar action, all of which he gladly shares when he's able to find time to write. During his time with the website, Chris has served as lead columnist, Deputy Managing Editor and Managing Editor prior to transitioning into his current role as a Special Consultant and Advisor.
By day, Chris is a bridge design and quality assurance engineer for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). He and his wife Tamara reside in Harrisburg, PA with their four children, Tyisha (7 yr.), Noah (6 yr.), Briana (3 yr.) and Casper (1 yr.). Prior to the past 7 years in the United States, the couple spent their first 6 years of marriage living in Tamara's hometown of Gravataí, Brazil. Expect to find Chris and his family at all Messiah men's soccer home games and an occassional away games as well.
