ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Trine forward Andre Hilson and Calvin goalkeeper Michael Dolan its Players of the Week in men’s soccer for games played through October 15.
Offensive Player of the Week
Hilson, a junior from Bremen, Ind. (Bremen HS), had a hand in four of the Thunder’s five goals for the week as Trine won twice to remain in the thick of the MIAA race. He assisted on an insurance goal in a 2-0 win over Albion, then scored twice and assisted on a third goal as Trine blanked Alma, 3-0. Hilson is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time this season and second time in his career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Dolan, a junior from Casco (Marine City HS), did not allow a goal in more than 150 minutes of play in leading the Knights to two victories that kept them in sole possession of first place in the MIAA. He made two saves in 61 minutes of action in a 4-1 victory over Adrian, then made four saves, including one where he dove to punch away a scoring threat in the final minute, in a 1-0 win over Hope.
