Blackman, Khoshbin named CCIW Men's Soccer Players of the Week
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Wheaton’s Adam Blackman and Carthage’s Zak Khoshbin were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Soccer Players of the Week Tuesday.
Blackman, a freshman forward from Urbana, Ill., and Urbana High School (Christian Education and Ministry major), scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute of Wheaton’s 1-0 victory over Illinois Wesleyan on October 26. He also added a goal during a 6-0 win over Millikin on October 26 that helped secure the Thunder a spot in the CCIW Men’s Soccer Tournament.
Khoshbin, a senior defender from Hawthorn Woods, Ill., and Lake Zurich High School (Accounting & Finance major), helped anchor a Red Men defense during a 1-0 win over then 13th-ranked North Park on October 26 and a 3-2 overtime win over Illinois Wesleyan on October 29. The win over Illinois Wesleyan, along with North Park’s loss to North Central on Saturday, gave Carthage the outright CCIW title, its second in conference history and first since 2007.
