NAC Women's Soccer Championship Seeding Announced
Castleton State College has secured the top seed in the upcoming North Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Championship. The Spartans (14-4 overall, 9-0 NAC) will take on eighth-seeded Thomas College (3-13 overall, 3-6 NAC) in a quarterfinal game on Saturday at 4:30 pm.
Colby-Sawyer earned the second seed, finishing the season 11-6-1 overall, 7-1-1 NAC. The Chargers will host Johnson State College (8-5-2 overall, 3-4-2 NAC) which earned the seventh seed in quarterfinal action Saturday.
Third-seeded Husson (7-11 overall, 6-3 NAC) will host sixth-seeded University of Maine at Farmington (5-9-3 overall, 4-4-1 NAC) Saturday at 5 pm, while fourth-seeded Lyndon State College (9-7-1 overall, 4-4-1 NAC) hosts fifth seed New England College (9-7-2, 4-4-1 NAC) in the final quarterfinal match-up Saturday.
The top eight teams qualify for the NAC Championship. Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.
Quarterfinal round games will be played on Saturday, October 29 at the higher seed. Winners will advance to the semifinals held at the higher seed on Tuesday, November 1. Semifinal winners will meet Saturday, November 5 at the highest remaining seed.
Game times and dates are subject to change. The NAC Champion receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship.
