Hats Off! Bosco and Singer Lead Hornets to Victory

LYNCHBURG, VA – Junior Angela Bosco and freshman Morgan Singer combined for eight of #11 Lynchburg College's 12 goals as the Hornets took down Randolph College 12-0 on Saturday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action as part of Parents and Family Weekend.

LC got started early as sophomore Dessi Dupuy put a goal in the back of the net off a crossing pass from sophomore Dana Nelsen. Following an unassisted goal by Bosco, Dupuy tacked on another off a Jenn Snyder assist. Snyder sent the ball into the front of the box to set up Dupuy as she got in behind the Randolph defense.

Snyder assisted on another score with the Hornets up 3-0 as Bosco broke away from the midfield pack to score past the goalkeeper.

Singer scored the next three Hornet goals to put the game away with LC having a 7-0 lead at halftime.

Bosco added one more goal in the second half for her third of the game. Singer scored the Hornets final two goals to end with five tallies on the day. The freshman has 15 goals on the season. Bosco is now second on the team with 13.

Jade Woll added an unassisted goal over the head of new Randolph keeper Ashley Stevens. The goal was Woll's third on the season.

Kristen Melchiori followed Woll with her second goal of the season on an assisted drive to the right side of the net.

Hunter Gibson had 14 saves for the WildCats (5-3/1-3) in the first half. Stevens added three in the last 45 minutes. LC outshot Randolph 41-0 and had an advantage in corner kicks 9-0.

The Hornets (8-0-1/2-0-1) travel to Guilford College (3-7/2-2) on Wednesday, September 26 for a 7 p.m. start.
